On March 27, at the Stade Roi Baudouin, controllers took the place of stereotypes. During the 10th edition of the Olympiades Inter-Homes in Brussels, 24 retirement homes proved that there’s no age limit when it comes to playing, or feeling the thrill of competition.
Filled with laughter, focus, and a strong sense of teamwork, esports supported by the Belgian Esports Federation, naturally became part of the day’s highlights. Through e-bowling, participants didn’t just discover a new game; they shared meaningful moments, took on challenges, and sometimes even surprised those around them.
No prior gaming experience was needed to feel the excitement of a close match. And for those already familiar with esports, it was easy to recognize that universal feeling: the joy of playing, the spirit of competition, and the simple pleasure of sharing the experience together. It’s something that transcends generations, and a reminder that esports still has many stories left to tell.

The initiative also placed a strong emphasis on inclusion. Adaptations made it possible for people with disabilities to fully participate, whether seated, assisted, or with reduced mobility. Esports proved to be a powerful tool for connection and well-being, where differences fade and shared enjoyment takes center stage.
