Rupert Hoop Appointed as New Head Coach of Belgian National CS Team
The Belgian Esport Federation (BESF) is proud to announce the appointment of Rupert "Rickertje" Hoop as the new Head Coach of the Belgian National Counter-Strike Male Team. Rupert brings with him experience as sport psychologist in Counter Strike for the last two years, more recently having shifted towards the head coach role. Currently he is active as Head Coach with Team Nemesis.
Rupert's appointment marks not only a new chapter for our national male team, but also the start of a broader structural development in the Belgian CS ecosystem. As of 2026, Rupert will also oversee the creation and guidance of two additional key pillars:
- Further development of our female team, aimed at supporting women talent in cs in Belgium, focused on development and growth.
- A brand new CS Academy team, which will serve as a stepping stone for young and upcoming players eager to make their mark in the competitive scene. This project will launch beginning of 2026 and will be aimed at giving a platform and support to younger Belgian CS players. Stay tuned.
These initiatives are central to BESF’s long-term goal: to cultivate a strong, inclusive, and competitive Counter-Strike culture in Belgium, from grassroots to the international stage. To inspire and to grow a broader community that is very needed.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Former Staff
We would like to take this moment to extend our deepest gratitude to Nicolas "v1d" De Grove, Anton "AntO_oNNN" Van Gorp and Hendrik "Noben" Noben. Over the past years, their commitment, expertise, and passion have laid the groundwork for everything we aim to build moving forward. Their hard work has not gone unnoticed, and we owe much of our current foundation to their years of service in leading and managing the Belgian CS division. Thanks!

Words from the New Head Coach – Rupert "Rickertje" Hoop
"I’m very excited to be able to contribute to the CS scene of my own country. It’s an honor to represent Belgium on the biggest stages. I’m looking forward to re-uniting the talent we have in our country and see how far we can go. Alongside that it’s a big goal for me to inspire the younger generations and give them both a dream and a path towards it. The Belgian CS scene hasn’t been in the best state last years, and I will try alongside motivated passionate people to make steps towards an exciting future."
